Join us for the Wisconsin premiere of Nate Sheppard's newest documentary, STONE COLD PHOENIX!
"Stone Cold Phoenix" is an intimate look at the life and stylings of Shelley Novotny, a northern Wisconsin mixed media artist who creates stunning wearable art pieces to showcase the understated beauty of the world and people around her. Part documentary and part cinematic poem, this film explores grief and resilience and demonstrates how communal art (and cold water immersion!) can transform us through the ashes of trauma into new and more beautiful versions of ourselves.
Premiere will take place at the Hilgermann Center in downtown Rhinelander (25 S. Brown St.) on Friday, October 23, 2026. Doors open at 6:30PM and the event starts at 7PM. The evening will include a Q&A discussion after the film with filmmaker/composer Nate Sheppard, subject Shelley Novotny and others who helped make the film.
Tickets are available online or at the door pending availability. The event will be held at The Hilgermann Center in downtown Rhinelander. Free street parking is available all around the center.
